Healthy Environment and Green Living

Creating a healthy personal environment is an essential part of our overall health and happiness. At Tranquility Bay, we offer a number of products and services to help our clients create healthier personal environments with education in green living practices and reducing environmental toxicity. What is Green Living?

Green Living is sometimes called Sustainable Living and its goal is to reduce the individual’s and society’s impact on and usage of the Earth’s natural resources. Everyone can benefit from learning green living practices and working to reduce their carbon footprint. This can be done by altering methods of transportation, reducing energy usage, purchasing safer, less toxic products and by buying foods that are grown locally and organically. It is important in green living to remember the three R’s — reduce, reuse and recycle — whenever you can. Think about small changes such as taking your own reuseable mug when you purchase coffee or by ordering smaller portions at restaurants to avoid the need for “to-go” containers. Every little bit helps! Also, small behavior changes made gently, over time tend to be more long-lasting.

(Note: A “carbon footprint” is “the total set of greenhouse gas emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event or product.” Learn how to calculate your carbon footprint here.)
